What Sigil is
Sigil is an encrypted vault for iPhone. It is iPhone only and needs iOS 17 or later. The App Store age rating is 17+.
What you may not store
Do not use Sigil to store illegal content. That includes, without exception, any content that sexually exploits minors. Sigil cannot see your files, so this rule rests on you, and it applies in full.
If you lose your pattern and recovery phrase
Your files are encrypted so that only you can open them. If you lose both the pattern and the recovery phrase, your files cannot be recovered by anyone, including Sigil. Keep the phrase somewhere safe.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. That includes billing, trials, renewals, cancellation and refunds. Sigil does not see your payment details.
No warranty
Sigil is provided as it is, without promises that it will be error free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Sigil is not liable for data you lose. This does not limit any rights you have by law as a consumer.
